Mr. Dominique Bussereau President of CODATU

CODATU and its partners, the Indian Ministry of Urban Development and the Institute of Urban Transport in India, are pleased to welcome you to Hyderabad from November 4-6, 2017, for the 17th CODATU conference, organized in conjunction with the 10th Urban Mobility India Conference.

This CODATU conference echoes that of New-Dehli in 1997, which led to the creation of the Institute of Urban Transport in India. India is a very special country for our association and its aim to promote sustainable urban mobility: the challenge is immense, as cities will have to host 500 million more dwellers in the next 25 years. This major challenge on a global scale is also an opportunity if Indian cities can find solutions to the many problems posed by this rapid urban transition and to avoid the mistakes of already more urbanized countries. Mobility will obviously be a crucial part of these solutions, if it is intelligent, inclusive and sustainable, which will be the general theme of this conference.

As usual, you will find, at this conference, scientific papers, selected by an international scientific committee. You will also see plenary or special sessions with senior politicians, managers of major companies in the urban mobility sector, and sessions organized by CODATU partners on specific topics. This organization will allow everyone to find their interests throughout the conference. And of course, everything is done to facilitate meetings and fruitful exchanges between all participants.

I look forward to meeting you on November 4th at the fantastic international conference center in Hyderabad, for this new step  in CODATU conferences and for international exchanges on sustainable urban mobility.
